Gerard O'Keefe Obituary

Gerard Peter "Jerry" O'Keefe Mt. Pleasant - Gerard Peter O'Keefe, known as Jerry, 85, of Mount Pleasant, preceded in death by his wife, Lois A. O'Keefe, entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born on July 3, 1936 in Manhattan, NY, Jerry was the son of the late Coleman Kerley and Julia Conlin Kerley. Jerry accomplished a B.S. degree from Maritime College, Professional Engineering degree and MBA from William & Mary. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul. He was on the board of the food bank, assisted his late wife with Meals on Wheels, and played an active role in building St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Sharon O'Keefe, daughter Kathy Van Dyke and husband, Steve, son, Brian O'Keefe and wife, Aimee, daughter, Kelly Scharling and husband, Tripp. Survived by 13 grandchildren, Brittney Lawler, Riley Bair, Kaylee Knisley, Elliot Van Dyke, Lawton Bair, Austin Knisley, Bennett Love, Kendall Bair, Reid Scharling, Paige Scharling, Coleman O'Keefe, Bryce Scharling, Leyton O'Keefe. Also 2 great-grandchildren, Kinzey and Noah Myers. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00PM.
