Georgia Bunton Obituary

Georgia B. Bunton MONCKS CORNER - Georgia B. Bunton, 102, of Moncks Corner, widow of Edward Lee Bunton, died on Sunday, July 10 in a Charleston hospital. Mrs. Bunton was born in Sylvania, GA on September 15, 1908, the daughter of Duff Barnes and Lizzie Woods Barnes. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Moncks Corner for many years. Mrs. Bunton was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother. She loved tending to her garden and cut her own grass until recently. Mrs. Bunton was honored with a celebration of her 100th birthday in 2008 by her family and Church members. Survivors include two sons; Charley (Chuck) Bunton and his wife Mary of Moncks Corner, George (Bo) Bunton and his wife Hildred, of Bonneau; two daughters, Mary Keenan and her husband, Joseph of Barnwell and Frances Larson and her husband Ray, of Moncks Corner; six grandchildren; Daniel Bunton, Dennis Bunton, Cheryl Peagler, Teresa Wilson, Barbara Blume and Anthony (Tony) Metts. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one grandson, Marion E. Metts, Jr. The funeral service for Mrs. Bunton will be held at the First Christian Church in Moncks Corner on Wednesday, July 13 at 2:00 PM directed by Russell Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Berkeley Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Russell Funeral Chapel of Moncks Corner.
