Georgette Coleman Obituary

Georgette Witcher Coleman N. CHARLESTON - The relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing of Mrs. Georgette Witcher Coleman, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2025, in the Murray's Mortuary North Charleston Chapel, 4060 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Georgette Witcher Coleman was born on August 30, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late George and Rebecca Witcher. She received her early education at Miller Street School in Newark. In February 1974, Georgette was united in holy matrimony to Theodore Coleman, who also preceded her in death. Together, they were blessed with four children. Georgette was known for her tireless work ethic and dedication to her family. At one point, she held three jobs simultaneously serving in the food services department for the Charleston County School District, working as a school crossing guard, and cleaning buildings in the evenings. Her strong commitment and determination were evident throughout her 37-year career with Charleston County Public Schools, from which she proudly retired. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Zhane Wade and Justin Coleman. Georgette leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved children: Lynette A. Witcher, Anthony G. Witcher (Parnice), Tia L. Coleman-Jenkins and Carlos T. Coleman (Ashley); her adopted sons, Donell Wigfall and Tony Jenkins; and her cherished grandchildren: Robert Witcher-Duncan, Karasten Allen-Witcher, Amaya Witcher, Amari Witcher, Jazmyn Hudson, Jordan Coleman, Joshua Coleman, Daniel Coleman-Jenkins, T. J. Jenkins, Keshana Jenkins, Kamiyah Yeadon, Emersyn Coleman, and Emanyee Coleman; loving sisters: Evonne Witcher, Christina Dyal and Geneva Miller (Garth); her devoted niece, Chantell Witcher; and a host of extended family and friends. Georgette's life was one of strength, sacrifice, and service. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
