George Turner Obituary

TURNER, George George Preston Turner, 84, of Isle of Palms, SC, died November 10, 2006. Mr. Turner was born June 11, 1922, in Orange, NJ, son of Thom Turner and Elizabeth Grois Turner. He was an avid bowler in his youth and a lifelong resident of Orange, NJ, before moving to Isle of Palms nine years ago. He was employed by Pabst Brewing Company in Newark, NJ, for 33 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Jane Chapman Turner of Isle of Palms, and his children Hannah E. Swan of Parsippany, NJ, Kathleen L. Wickman and her husband William L.Wickman of Isle of Palms, SC, and Elizabeth M. Turner of Goose Creek, SC; five grandchildren, Christopher Wickman, Douglas Wickman, Elizabeth Wickman, Michael Swan, and Cynthia Pinto and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale, Box 318, Memphis, TN 38101-0318 and Lutheran Hospice, 900 Johnnie Dodds Blvd, Suite 200, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, or a charity of ones choice. Arrangements are being handled by Codey Funeral Services in Newark, NJ. Local arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
