Dear Beth and George's Family,
George was one of the kindest people we have had the pleasure of knowing. If a person would have asked for the shirt off his back, he would have handed it over and say, "Is there anything else that you might need?"
By being Chaplain for Ocean Beaches American Legion Post 129, he gave so much love, caring, and friendship. His shoes will be hard to fill. Even when he was in the hospital, he continued to call people to see how they were. Never thinking of himself; always thinking of others.
We are blessed to have George as our friend. Our hearts, love, and prayers are with you, Beth, and the family.
He's been called for Almighty Service and we know he'll be just fine.
With much love, we pray that we can be even a little bit as good as George. God is smiling now that George is in Heaven.

We were sad to hear of George's passing. My wife and I had the pleasure of knowing both George and Beth when George worked at the Center. There was never a dull moment. George cared about people and people cared about him. His kindness was unlimited. Our prayers are with the family.

I am very saddened to hear of George's passing, He was truly an excample of how a man should conduct himself. Although we are all in pain over losing him, his pain is now over and he has added a touch of southern class to heaven. My prayers will be with his friends and family.

With great sadness did I learn of George's passing . I had pleasure of working with him at disp center for several years . He was true gentleman who cared about everyone he touched . He also had to deal with all those transplanted yankees that he worked with . george did his best to teach them proper southern english . He had a passion for his union and would pass that on to co workers he came in contact with . My prayers are with his family . even with the hardships and suferind he endured , he still would greet you with that smile and a " HI BUBBA' .

I knew George only a short while and his smile, chuckle, and genuine kindness will be missed. He was always ready to help, to listen, to teach, to steady. His faith was strong. My life was enriched by the time I spent with him and my prayers go out to those closest to him. I suppose there was another railroader needed in Heaven.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. The first day I made Signalman I was working with George. I'll never forget how helpful he was to me as I learned the craft. Our tears fall silently, Our heart grieve quietly… But God hears our cries and shares our sorrow. Isaiah 53:4
“Surely He has borne our grief’s and carried our sorrows…”

George was a truly special and unique man and he will truly be missed. I worked with George one night per month for several months and I truly looked forward to it. George always kept things interesting and he consistently made the day better with his sense of humor even when things were not so great. May God bless him and his family!

It is with great sorrow that I learned of George's passing. For those of us who worked with him, his laughter and humor were often the highlight of our day. He constantly kept us entertained. George was one of those rare people who genuinely cared about the people around him, and we were truly blessed with his friendship and guidance. He will be missed. Your family will remain in my prayers.

Beth, Boys, and Family,
There are no words to express how deeply sorry Pat and I are about the loss of George. Our lives will never be the same without him. George was a father-figure to the both of us. He offered support during some of our darkest moments when we lived in Jacksonville. His love and gentle guidance helped us overcome many heart-breaking memories.
George was an extra special person who always put others first. His sweet smile and boisterous laugh made him unique. He touched every life he encountered. George was the type of man who was not afraid to express his emotions and to show how deeply he cared for those he loved. His devotion to God, family, friends, co-workers, etc. made him unique. No matter what the obstacle George never lost faith. Through traumatic events, multiple surgeries, illnesses, pain, and suffering George taught us all about how to endure life's hardships with dignity and strength. The world will be a lonelier place without sweet George. There will never be another person like him or who could take his place.
During the hours, days, weeks ahead your journey dealing with your loss will be difficult. Keep all of your memories close to your heart. There you will find your strength. I hope knowing that there are so many people who will be praying for you will give you some sense of peace. Never forget that George will always be with each of you in your hearts no matter where you go.
Heaven has gained a special angel because of our loss.
Love to each of you,

Ed Pritchett
