George T. "Sonny" Rhodes, Jr. Awendaw, SC - George T. Rhodes, Jr. of Awendaw, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 peacefully at home. Capt. Sonny was born March 2, 1943 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Mr. George T. Rhodes, Sr. and Mrs. Blanche White Rhodes. He was a retired commercial fisherman out of Mount Pleasant and McClellanville. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra; three children, sons: Vincent and wife Bet of Beaufort, SC, Wade and wife Meaghan of Awendaw, and daughter, Dorcas and husband Enrico of Awendaw; eight beautiful grandchildren and his brother Randy Rhodes and wife Joyce.
