George Mock Obituary

MOCK, George FAIRFAX - Mr. George Mock, Jr., 79, of Jeffcoat Street in Fairfax, SC, died Friday afternoon, October 24, 2008 at his residence after an extended illness. Born February 27, 1929 in Jasper County, SC, he was the son of the late George Henry Mock and Mary Lee Crosby Mock. He served his country in the United States Navy in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had retired from the Savannah River Site (Dupont) as an electrician, but before his retirement he was also a teacher and instructor at the facility. He was of the Mormon faith. He is survived by his wife, Donna Lou Freeman Mock of the home; two sons, Donald Anthony Mock and wife Jennifer of Barnwell, SC and Lester Brian Mock and wife Tamie of Phoenix, AZ; three daughters, Donna Maria Berry and husband B.J. of Fairfax, SC, Dorothy Wimpey and husband Larry of Jesup, GA and Betty Ingram of Nixville. There are seven grandchildren, Joshua, Heather, Caleb, Hannah, Olivia, Hunter and Gracie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11 AM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Elder Jack Pearson. Burial will follow in the Grimes Cemetery near Grays, SC. Friends may call at the funeral home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM and prior to the service on Tuesday.
