George Kemfort Obituary

TSGT George Edward Kemfort, Jr., US Air Force, Ret., 82, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away on the evening of July 30, 2025, in a Walterboro nursing facility. Born July 29, 1943, in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of George Edward Kemfort, Sr., and Mae Irene Buehler Kemfort. His funeral will be 1:00 PM Monday afternoon, August 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, SC, with interment following in Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the hour of service on Monday. SGT Kemfort served his Country with distinction in the US Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War, and traveling extensively both in the United States and overseas. After retiring, he continued to enjoy traveling, particularly to the mountains. He was a dedicated employee at Woody Bilton Ford and the US Postal Service. SGT Kemfort was a member of the Berkeley Squares and enjoyed square dancing with his beloved wife. He was passionate about gardening, working in the yard, and feeding the birds. An animal lover and avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed attending races. In addition to his parents, SGT Kemfort was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Zeller, and his brother, Craig Kemfort. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Cartwright Kemfort; his daughters, Pamela Pipkin of Batesburg, SC, and Elizabeth Daskowski of Clarkesville, TN; his son, James E. Kemfort of Lexington, SC; his brother, Jay Kemfort of Parrish, FL; seven grandchildren, Silas E. Pipkin, III, Jeffrey B. Pipkin, Alexis Kemfort, Peyton Kemfort, Seth Kemfort, Jabin Kemfort, and Shelby Daskowski; and eleven great grandchildren.
