Cannot believe it is already a year since George passed. We think of him often as he was such a part of our careers and a dear Friend. We laugh about the memories and know he is making those same friendship in Heaven. Miss you George, you were so good to us and we love you!

Dear Lindsay and Henderson family -
I was so sorry to learn about George's passing. Though it's been several years since I saw him, I've always remembered George as a kind, sincere and generous person and advisor. When my first business was young, George was often a supportive sounding board for my ideas and questions. I valued and appreciated his input and suggestions greatly.
Once, I had the opportunity to do an interview with George for a writing project I was working on. I remember being struck by how down to earth he was despite being in such a high profile and high pressure role with Burlington Industries. I've thought of that interview often over the years and appreciate how he made me feel my small local business was just as important and valid as an international textile company.
My deepest sympathies for the family and all who loved George/Bunky.

Dear Lindsay, Stephanie, and George,
Writing this message to you is the smallest measure of caring that I can offer you in response to Bunky's passing, but I hope that I will see you very soon to offer my condolences in person. As we can witness from even this platform of tribute that Bunky changed lives. He gave me one piece of advice many years ago, and I heeded it. Turn right, he said. That small suggestion carried great weight for me, and determined a new way of living after many years of wrong turns.
My love to you all, and prayers for peace in your hearts.

I remember Bunky very well. I first met him when we were both campers at Camp Yonahnoka in Linville, NC, before either of us was old enough to attend the Episcopal High School. I lost track of him after his graduation (a year ahead of me); but other classmates remained in touch with him and let me know that he was doing well.
I'm very sorry to hear that he's no longer with us, but I'm pleased to know that he had a wonderful, fulfilling life and a family who loved him. We all should be so fortunate.

Lindsay my sincerest condolences to you the kids and all of the Henderson's on George's passing. I worked with George and his dad for many years and was lucky enough to have been part of the Denim team he built at Burlington. I know that even with all of his various positions within the company he had a true soft spot for the Denim group he created and the feeling was mutual.
Many meetings, many laughs and a lot of good business. He's gone to soon and will be missed.
Sincerely,
Doug

Dear Lindsay,
If there was a mentor in my life it was George Henderson, his belief in me stayed with me for decades. The years at Burlington were some of the best, developing the friendships we have to this day. George was kind, genuine and sincere. I could not thank him enough for all he did for me and how much fun we had. Our hearts are broken for you and your family. I am so glad to have connected with George bit in last 2 years. God bless you and your family. You are in our prayers.

Lindsay, George, and Stephanie. Cam and I are so sad to hear this news. We have so many fond memories of days in Greensboro. Our boat trip to Charleston and concert to Billy Joel and Elton John are some of our fondest memories. He was one of the kindest and most humble people I´ve known. He loved his family well. He was indeed an inspiration. Cam and I send love and prayers to all of you.

Bunky how kind of a friend you are to so many and even though our paths did not cross very often, you were always so gracious and asked after me and what I was up to and you took the time to really spend those quality moments which leaves a presence on others lives. Thank you for those many moments and friendship to all the Stephens over the years. We will miss you and all your family are in our prayers. THANK YOU!

George changed my life. Recruited to become a sales VP into his Lees Division in 1989, his confidence in me and direction provided, greatly contributed to my professional and personal growth. Hard work, high integrity and good times. An honor to be involved.

George Henderson first hired my dad to work for Burlington Industries, straight out of college, in London, in 1979. He would then bring dad and us to the States, full-time in 1990, to work for Lees Carpet.
His belief in Jim McCallum not only changed my father's life... but our entire family's.
For that, I'm forever grateful.
My thoughts are with George and his family at this time.
We all owe him a debt that can never be repaid.

Lindsay, George and Stephanie,
I can't tell you how very sorry I was to hear of George's passing. He was one of the kindest, genuine people I knew.
When we all moved to Greensboro in 1985 George was always concerned about how everyone was coping with the move. The denim division was truly the best and in spite of George's position as President, he never stopped to care about all his people.
I am so glad I was able to know him and he will always be remembered in the nicest way. He was truly one of the best!
Please take care of yourself and if you're ever in Greensboro I would love to see you. All my love and prayers!
Love
Diane

Lindsay, George and Stephanie,
Deepest condolences for your loss and it is a sad day for the world to lose such a shining light as George.
I cannot over emphasize the incredible impact George has had on my life, from hiring me straight out of college, in London, as a raw and naive kid, to moving me and my family to the US to join his new management team, to his advocacy in promoting me to a position he once held as president of Lees. His support and mentorship literally shaped my career.
More importantly than this though, his humour,, his integrity, his honesty, his candour and his leadership qualities made an impact that has shaped my life.
He was a true hero to most that knew him and will forever be missed.

Lindsay, Stephanie, George,
Greg and I are so saddened to hear this. Bunky is one of the sweetest people I have ever had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with at Roaring Gap. I always looked forward to every story he had to tell, every smile he had to share, every hug he had to give. The lives he touched are so much better for having known him.
Dear Dear Bunky, you are, and always will be, remembered and loved by so many. You hold a very special place in my heart.
much love to you all,
Lori Dexter
