George was one of our first friends on moving to Isle of Palms, and joining St. Andrews Church. (1977 or so). He and Beckie opened their Sullivan's Island home to the "occasional choir". George played a mean guitar, sang and loved our practices. A little wine helped us sound better :-) We numbered about 10-12 as I remember. George had a wonderful sense of humor. We sang, played instruments from the balcony of St. Andrews historic church on Sundays at 9 AM. And generally broke the barriers to contemporary Christian music at St. Andrews!! Not all appreciated us - but many did, and God blessed our efforts. Thanks be to God for George's life. May he rest in peace.

It was my good fortune to work with Dr. George in the operating rooms at St. Francis during the late 1990's. He was an inspiration to all who knew and worked with him primarily because of his kindness towards patients and coworkers alike. His work and life were firmly grounded in faith and devotion to Christianity and theological understanding that showed forth unfailingly.

May the Choir of Angels lead Dr,Buxton to
Paradise and may he rest in Peace.God Bless
all his family members.

I am sorry to hear of George's passing. I worked with him at Roper starting in the early 90's. I very much appreciated his no-nonsense good-humored approach to life and medicine. I have missed him since he left and am still inspired by his selfless work ethic. Peace to George and all who love him.
