George Bryan Obituary

BRYAN, JR., George Commander George Sloan Bryan, Jr., U.S. Navy (Ret.), 80, or Charlottesville, VA husband of Dulcy Thomas Bryan entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in Charlottesville. Cmdr Bryan was born in Annapolis, MD a son of Rear Admiral George S. Bryan, Sr., U.S. Navy, and Mary Littell Bryan on Monday, September 8, 1924. He was a graduate of Swathmore College and earned his masters degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. He was a member of the Sigma XI Honor Society. Cmdr Bryan was a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. After his Navy retirement he was a Systems Analyst for IBM. Surviving are his wife Dulcy T. Bryan , three children, Mary B. Petersen of Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. George S. Bryan, III of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Molly B. Kunkel of State College, PA, a brother, William L. Bryan of Bethesda, MD and 4 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Westminister Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, Friday July 29, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Arlington Cemetery at a later date. The family request that memorials be made to the Fellowship Fund, Westminister Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, 250 Pantops Mountain Rd., Charlottesville, VA 22911. Arrangements by James A.
