George Blackwell Obituary

BLACKWELL, George Retired US Air Force, TSgt., George Anderson Blackwell, 72, of Goose Creek, husband of Mary Lou Regan Blackwell, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Blackwell was retired from the US Air Force having served in the Vietnam War. He was a Real Estate Broker and owner of Plantation Reality, a member of Summerville Masonic Lodge, Omar Shrine, Scottish Rite, and the Blue Lodge, and a resident of Goose Creek since 1972. Born June 23, 1933, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late John W. Blackwell and Ida Mae Hoover Blackwell. Survivors include: his wife Mary Lou Regan Blackwell of Goose Creek; two daughters, Judy Blackwell, of Summerville, Susan Leach and her husband Jeff of Litchfield, Ill.; two sons, Scott Blackwell and his wife Robin of Goose Creek, Michael Blackwell and his wife Linda of Ladson; two brothers, Charles Blackwell of Augusta, Ga., and Ben Blackwell of Pelion, S.C. Also included are six grandchildren, Meghan and husband Cory, Aryn, Nicole, Michael, Morgan, Joshua and one great-grandchild Elijah. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2005, 11 a.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Entombment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1867 Lockland Hill Parkway, St. Louis, Mo. 63146-9777. Mary Lou, I don't think I have to tell you how deeply Johnny and I feel for you. I pray that God will give you comfort where there is sorrow. (John 14) I admire you as you have been there for George and have been a gracious, loving wife through all of the suffering you all have endured.. We love you and we are just a phone number away
