George Barber Obituary

George Edward Barber III MT. PLEASANT - George Edward Barber III, Mount Pleasant, SC, died February 17, 2014. Born October 8, 1937, George was the beloved son of the late Miriam F. and George E. Barber, Jr. He was raised in Charlotte, NC, attending Dilworth, Alexander Graham and Myers Park High. He remained a Charlottean through his 2006 retirement, until moving to Mount Pleasant in 2012. He is survived by his brother, Freeman Barber and wife Susan; his niece, Garrett Rust and husband Trey and their children, Lila and Shaw; his nephew, Freeman Barber, Jr. and wife Margaret and their children, Freeman III and Hunt, all of Mount Pleasant; and his step-niece, Steele Trotter, of Charleston, SC. George's family extends heartfelt thanks to the staffs of The Palms of Mount Pleasant, Home Instead Senior Care and Carolina Hospice Care. Grave-side services will be held at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, at 1PM February 20.
