Geneva Williams Obituary

Geneva Williams AUSTELL, GA - It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts to inform you of the transition of my much beloved mother, Geneva Williams, 76, of Austell Georgia, on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Geneva was born on August 21, 1946, in Charleston, daughter of the late Otis Williams and late Lizzie Sanders Williams. She was a graduate of Burke High School, City College of New York, and Columbia University. Geneva led an impactful career as a Psychiatric Social Worker in Georgia. Surviving is her daughter, Khadija Kheir Prince; grandchildren, Miles Prince and Chase Prince; siblings, Allen Williams, Bernard Williams, Arnold Williams, Roberta Williams Palmer, Herman Williams, and Karl Williams, and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Please join us to honor and celebrate this part of her journey as she has become an Ancestor at her Celebration of Life Service, 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 20th, 2023, at Shaw Temple AME, Smyrna, GA. We thank God for the gift and blessing of a loving mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and beautiful woman inside and out. The blessings and joy she brought not only to us but to all whose lives she has touched. She lived a life filled with purpose and meaning, a faith filled life with kindness, compassion, generosity, and with deep abiding love and service for God, family, community, and humanity. Geneva and I grew up together in Charleston; knowing each other since elementary school. We both lived in NYC and hung out together there. Geneva was always the same; no pretense. She had strong opinions about everything and wasn´t afraid to let you know it. I am heartened by the fact that I know that she is at Peace. My sincere condolences to her beautiful daughter, Khadijah, her siblings. "Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her..."Amen
