Pauline aand Gene's S.C family - I hope that the memories of her love for life will help you get through the sad days you may face. I just couldn't believe that she had left a message for all of us on Facebook. I read it shortly after I found out she had left us. But that was Gene, looking out for others. God bless you and be with you all - Lorena Elder Smith, NNHS Class of '60 and 62nd Street friend

I had the privilege to work with Gene over the years. It is her smile and great faith that I will remember and cherish! One of my fondest memories is her performance on King Street during Christmas when my daughter was very young.
May God give you His Love, Peace and Comfort during the days ahead.

Gene, you were the best wife I ever had. you put up with all the jokes I pulled on you on stage. You Laughed when I wouldn't show up on time on stage and I had left you hanging, there is no better friend then a friend who can have fun with you on stage, after all when it stops being fun its time to quit. I will miss you, but I know you have already set up a theater in heaven and are in rehearsal for the grandest play of all. It will be called "GENE'S ASCENSION INTO HEAVEN" Staring Gene Glave, directed by Gene Glave, Produced by Gene Glave.

My husband and I were deeply saddened to hear about Gene Temple's illness and passing. I met Gene when I transferred to Stonewall Jackson School when I was 10 years old and Gene Temple and I became close friends. I will always remember the many hours I spent with the Collins family and the great affection I had for Gene, her mother, and grandmother. Gene was such a fun-loving person that I believe she would want us to celebrate her life, by carrying forth her kindness and treasuring our memories of her with great joy. Gene Temple's family will be in our prayers and thoughts.

My sincere condolences to the entire family of Gene Temple Collins Glave. She was a most special person. I was privileged to have graduated with her at Newport News High School in 1960. She was such a dear person. I shall never forget the time that Gene and Dick walked over to a wedding rehearsal dinner (outside) we were attending down on the island in South Carolina. Such a small world...Gene was a close friend of the mother of the groom, Jason Burford. We have been close friends of the bride, Amy Harrell and her family for many years. Gene was told we would be there and so they stopped by to say, "hello". It was beautiful there on the ocean and Gene and Dick walked a short distance from their house. Heaven is a better place with Gene there. We will see her again.
May God bless and give you strength.
