Gay Creedman Obituary

Gay Cannon Creedman CHARLESTON - Gay Cannon Creedman, 65, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Gay was born on October 2, 1959 in Florence, SC, daughter of Faye Cannon Keels and the late Oscar "Skeet" Cannon, Jr. After graduating from West Florence High School in 1976, Gay became a registered nurse and married Steven Creedman, MD on June 27, 1987. After raising three children in Florence, Gay and Steve moved to Charleston in 2016 to start the next chapter of their lives. Gay loved cooking holiday meals, gardening, and attending concerts of her favorite bands, especially Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Her greatest joy came from spending time with and caring for her family. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Steve; children: Allison Petersen (Micah), Scott Creedman, MD, and John Creedman; mother, Faye; sisters: Renee Rhodes (Morris) and Julie Tyler; brother, Paul Cannon (Brenda); nieces: Scarlett Collins and Gayden Tyler; and nephews: Marshall Rhodes and Steven Tyler. She was preceded in death by her father, Skeet and nephew, Jason Rhodes. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Gay's life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the J. Steve and Family,
I am praying for all of you. Gay, was a precious, genuine friend of mine. It really broke my heart to hear this sad sad news. Gay was herself, always, no matter where she was or who she was with.
She absolutely adored you, Steve, and her Family was her treasure. I have nothing but beautiful fond memories of her, and her joking funny self that very few people saw. I am still in Florence, and when you all moved, our paths didn´t cross so much. I remember her repeatedly asking me to come to Charleston to see y´all, and I deeply regret that I never did.
Praying for all of you during this difficult time.

One of the very nicest people I've ever met in our hometown of Florence. A smile that would light up any day. A wonderful and kind human being who was always cheerful.
