Gary Shealy Obituary

Gary Randall Shealy Charleston - Gary Randall Shealy,71, of Charleston, SC, husband of Linda Hooks Shealy entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 7, 2016. His funeral service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016 in St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Avenue at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 9, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from to 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Gary was born October 3, 1944 in Batesburg, SC, son of the late Gordon Roland Shealy and Leila Smith Shealy. He was General Foreman with the Charleston Naval Shipyard Shop 06, before he retired from Marine Corps Base-Quantico as Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. Gary was a Member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, and past president of the United Methodist Men. He also was a member Charleston Elks Lodge #242, Federal Managers Association, the organizer for St. Mark's One80 Place Outreach Team, and Facility director for Lowcountry Emmaus. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Shealy of Charleston, SC, two sons, Kevin R. Shealy (Stacey), and Cary R. Shealy (Laurin) both of Charleston, SC; special family, W. Tracy Brown (Rosemary) of Charleston, SC; Carol Murray of Irmo, SC; Kristin Dashiell (Lee) of Chapin, SC; brother, Gregory Shealy (Kay) of Charleston, SC; sister, Susan Shealy Feldman of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, Ashlyn Shealy, Addison Shealy, Chad Shealy, William Shealy, Mallory Brown, Logan Brown, Emma Dashiell, and Drew Dashiell. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Avenue, Charleston, SC 29407. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
