Gary Puckhaber Obituary

Gary Puckhaber CHARLESTON - Gary Stephen Puckhaber entered into his eternity in Heaven on August 9, 2024. He was born on September 7th, 1951, in Charleston, SC, to Richard J. Puckhaber Sr. and Gloria Morillo Puckhaber. (also deceased). He is survived by 2 children, Maintenance Platoon Sgt. Michael Puckhaber, US Army of Washington State and Ashley Puckhaber Barrineau (Gordon Barrineau) of Charleston, SC; 2 sisters, Dianne Stafford of Florence, SC, and Kathy (Puckhaber) Baxley-Stewart (Lee Stewart) of Charleston, SC. He also leaves behind 5 wonderful grandchildren that he proudly loved dearly to carry on his legacy as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his eldest son, Anthony (Tony) Puckhaber; his brother, Richard J. Puckhaber Jr.; his sister, Sandy Coleman; and 2 nephews, Trey Puckhaber and Ryan Puckhaber. Gary was an avid sports fan, but anyone who knew him, knew without a doubt that Carolina Gamecocks football was his absolute favorite. He collected quite a few jerseys, shirts and hats that would be worn on each and every game day. He loved getting together with family and friends on these days for food, drink and togetherness. Gary truly loved his family and friends and accepted any invitation to be around those he loved. When in his presence, you knew how deeply Gary loved. You didn't get past him without a hug. But most of all, Gary was a very strong Christian and loved Jesus. He never missed an opportunity to tell others of his faith. And those still here who will miss him dearly, know without a doubt he is celebrating with his Lord and Savior and those family members and friends who have gone before him. We rest in that joy and peacefulness knowing we will see him again. The family asks that you join us in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 17th, from 12-3 pm at Cedar Creek Tavern, 2578 Ashley River Rd.
