GARY MEDRICK PERKINS Gary Perkins, age 60, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away at home on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi, son of Mildred Osterlund Perkins and the late Kenneth M. Perkins. He resided in Glastonbury, Connecticut before moving to Palm Beach Gardens in 1977. Gary was in The United States Army during The Vietnam War, serving as an Ordinance Officer. He was a graduate of University of Rhode Island, Class of 1966. Gary was employed as a Mechanical Engineer by Pratt & Whitney, Hartford, CT and West Palm Beach for 34 years before retiring. Subsequently, he worked for Belcan, a consulting firm in Palm Beach Gardens. Gary was a member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed sailing and woodworking. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Scott Medrick Perkins, who died in 2003. Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Marsha E. Perkins; his mother, Mildred O. Perkins of Coventry, Rhode Island; three children, Mark A. Perkins and wife Molly of Atlanta, Georgia, Craig P. Perkins and Emily R. Perkins of Palm Beach Gardens; daughter-in-law, Melanie Perkins of Jupiter, FL; two grandchildren: Jake and Logan; a sister, Dale Pelletier of Coventry, RI and nephews. A memorial service celebrating the life of Gary Perkins will be held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens on Sunday, October 17 at 3 P.M. with The Very Reverend Jeannie M. Martz, Associate Rector, as Celebrant. Those planning an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers are asked to consider contributions in memory of Gary M.
