Gary Addison Obituary

Col. Gary Ray Addison, US Army (Ret.) GOOSE CREEK - Col. Gary Ray Addison (Ret. U.S. Army), 61, of Goose Creek, husband to Dominique Fontaine Addison, passed away August 9, 2012. Born in Norton, VA, he was the son of the late Guy and Frances Collins Addison. He received his Bachelor's Degree from East Tennessee State University and his Master's Degree from Florida Institute of Technology. After graduation from ETSU he joined to United States Army, where he retired after thirty years as a Colonel, serving during Desert Storm and the Bosnian Conflict. Mr. Addison moved to Goose Creek to work as a contractor for DynCorp at the Charleston Naval Weapon Station. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves and coached basketball for the Goose Creek Recreation. He is survived by his wife of twenty three years, Dominique Addison; four sons, Steve Addison of Norton, VA, Jonathan Addison, Christopher Addison and Carlton Addison, all of Goose Creek; daughter, Anna Michelle White of Norton, VA; brother, Ronnie Addison of Kentucky and sister, Annette Clough of Virginia. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in All Saints Chapel, Charleston Naval Weapon Station. The family will receive friends in chapel from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held Wednesday at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Norton, VA.
