Gail Johnson Trommetter CHARLESTON - Gail Johnson Trommetter, 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Walter W. Trommetter, Jr., entered eternal rest Friday, June 7, 2024. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. Gail was born November 12, 1951 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Herbert Barnwell Johnson and Barbara McKeithan Johnson. She was an amazing mom, grandmother, sister, auntie and wife. She was known for her humor, laughter, and love for her family. Her hobbies include reading Stephen King novels, crossword puzzles, listening to music and talking with her family and friends. The mountains and the beach were her favorite places to visit. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She was a master rod builder for offshore and inshore fishing. She will be greatly missed by all. Her memory will forever be in our hearts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Michele Davis, son in law Blaine Davis and grandson, Ryan Davis, Jr. of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Karen (Craig) Ilgen, Donna Marie Johnson of Charleston, SC; six nephews, Tyler (Erica) Ilgen, Joseph (Nicole) Ilgen, Adam Ilgen, James (Chelsea) Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Wells (Shelby) Johnson; three nieces, Abbigail Ayres, Sarah Ayres, Barbara Doverspike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Johnson, Jr., and sister, Debbie Johnson. Gail was my childhood friend. We lived down the lane and shared so many memories, especially remembering the "escaped prisoner" chasing us all over lawton bluff. Another one of Herbie's ideas. Lol. I have thought of you often. You will be missed.
