G. Stephen Maroska Obituary

G. Stephen Maroska, Jr. Six Mile, SC - G. Stephen Maroska, Jr., 41, was born in Summerville, South Carolina, on January 2, 1976, to George Stephen Maroska, Sr. and Patricia Hayes Maroska. Stephen graduated from Summerville High School in 1994 where he participated in soccer and cross-country before attending Clemson University to pursue a degree in Forestry. During high school, Stephen was active in the youth groups at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Summerville where he was a member and was a counselor at Camp St. Christopher for many years. A talented musician, Stephen played the guitar, mandolin, and piano and wrote beautiful poetry and songs. He loved to cook and was best friends to his pets, Buddy and Salley. Stephen was recently predeceased by his mother, Patricia Hayes Maroska. Left to honor Stephen are his father of Charleston; his sister, Catherine Maroska Neel (John); his nieces, Grace (Stephen's godchild), Virginia, and Rosemary Neel all of Clemson, South Carolina. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Lena Lynes Cooler of Ridgeland, South Carolina; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Burial will be private at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday, December 29, 2017.
