Frieda Wittler Obituary

Frieda Ann Wittler MT. PLEASANT - Frieda Ann Wittler, a beloved mother, grandmother, homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 93 in Mount Pleasant, SC. She was born on August 8, 1931 in Quincy, IL to her parents, the late Henry B. Althoff and the late Anna Keil Althoff. Frieda dedicated her life to her family, cultivating a warm and nurturing home filled with love and laughter. Her commitment to her family was mirrored by her active participation in her church community, where she found joy and fulfillment among friends. Frieda cherished the simple pleasures in life, gardening, flowers and particularly her love for reading and the treasured moments spent with her family. She is survived by her children, Don Wittler of Port Orange, FL, Janice Glenn (Tim) of Marengo, IL, and Sandy Stoll (Rodney) of Charleston, SC. Frieda's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Catheryn Santhosam (Immanuel), Angela Campion (Jason), Kyle Glenn (Jacki), Taylor Hammond (Chandler), and Regan Stoll (Rachel). Additionally, she was a proud great-grandmother to Angelina, Job, Abbey, Owen, Olivia, Gavin, and Emersyn, and Winston. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland Eugene Wittler, her grandson, Mac Wittler, and six siblings. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
