So sad to hear about Fred's passing. He was one of my pool friends....those stalwarts that swam in the lane next to you, rain or shine, all year long. The ones you saw regularly and chatted with during breaks at the wall. A kind, gracious gentleman. I'm sorry for your loss.

I enjoyed knowing Fred, working at the Workers' Compensation Commission, he always could make me laugh and loved to watch him shag. He will be missed by the workers' compensation sector. Prayers for his family.

Dear Patty and family,
I am sorry that I cannot attend the funeral today and tell you in person how much I enjoyed and respected Fred Riesen. He was always a warm and welcoming person to me. Whatever was being discussed, I had the feeling that he was listening and interested and wanted to be involved. We laughed easily together, but we could discuss serious topics. I recall that many years ago....I think it was a reception for one of the Dupree girls at some plantation....my wife, you, Fred and me were down by the dock on the river enjoying the beauty of the day and talking with each other and listening to Josh Groban sing, "You Raise me up".....it was a beautiful moment together. He was a really good guy. May God give you and the family strength in the days ahead.

Fred was the consummate gentleman lawyer. It was a pleasure to practice with him for the past 24 years. I will miss our discussions about shrimping and fishing. My sympathies to his family.

Dear Riesen Family,
So sorry to hear of Fred's passing! Fondly remember growing up in St. Andrew's Church and seeing you all every Sunday. Years later, I became a lawyer and looked up to Fred for his work doing the same thing I love: workers' compensation. Thinking of you at this time of sadness, I know you also celebrate the gift of his life and all the positive ways he made the world a better place!
