He was a wonderful friend and I miss him

He was a wonderful friend a wonderful person and I miss him very much

He was a wonderful friend and an inspiration to everyone. I miss his wonderful humor and the love he showed everyone. He was a wonderful father to his children and and grandfather to his grandchildren.

Father Bill was a beacon during a very dark time for me. I moved here 10 yrs ago with a 4 yr old daughter, reeling from a divorce, not knowing a soul. I immediately sought solace in a church and, although a very private person, Father Bill honed in on us - he spoke to my daughter and I every week, asked how we were, checked in on us, called us, cared about us, He was our only friend for quite some time. I was grieving for my lost marriage and my fears for my young daughter and he was there for both of us. He called, he kept in touch, he counseled. He settled her in Sunday school and made sure she was ok. And not for a few weeks or a few a months but for year and years. After he finally was able to retire a bit, lol, he still remembered what we went through and was so sweet and concerned and genuine when we would see one another. It came naturally to him. I will never forget his kindness nor his beautiful Burl Ives voice. He helped us both through so much, I don't know how we would have come through it without him and I will always honor him and remember. I wanted to speak with his family today after services, but I always feel an outsider in crowds, so perhaps., through this, they will know how greatly he affected the lives of 2 lost souls and helped put us back on track to the happiness we have now found.

He was the sweetest man I will miss him he always made my day with that beautiful smile. If I felt bad thats what brightened my day. I was blessed to have met him. I loved him truly but God loved him best. Regina Brown -Bishop Gadsden 3-11

Bill, thank you for letting me know you and being a friend. Bill you were a true southern gentleman. I will miss our talks and your smile and your laugh. Thank you for marrying Ruth and I on our 40th wedding anniversary and surprising her. You will be in our hearts until we meet again.

Fr Bill baptized me at St. Christopher's. I remember him every April 9th (my baptismal anniversary), I every time I celebrate baptisms. May God grant him eternal rest in the Kingdom he faithfully proclaimed!

May Bill test in peace! He was so loved by me..and anyone who had the privelage to have met him..

Fr. Bill............ so many memories. I will just say that God used him to practically save my life. He was always available to me either on the phone of driving to our home. When a grandson had an accident in SC and was airlifted to a hosp. in Charleston, Bill went to visit him. I could go on but one last thing I will say:he drove to Charlotte to be at my birthday dinner!

Through the years he's been my Pastor, counselor, brother, and friend. I will miss him the rest of my days and look forward to seeing him again in our forever home.

Fr. Bill, you taught me so much about God and trusting Him for everything. I am eternally grateful to you for your words of wisdom, care and concern and most of all that you encouraged me to go deeper into a personal relationship with God. Thank you for your humor and your phrase, "you know what I mean".

David and Jennifer and families: I know that your Dad was a gift from God to all of us. Thank you for sharing your Dad with so many people.

My family and I will miss you more than words can express. Because of your words and God's promise, we know we will see you again.

Fr. Bill loved God and everyone. He was a man who had the gift of Faith, who humbly showed others how to live each day trusting in God and loving others. I am so thankful that Fr. Bill taught me so very much about what is means to trust in God every day.

When I first met him I was a new churchgoer and his name was Rev. William F Lantz. He became Fr. Bill and I became a Christian. When he died, death had lost it's sting. Miss you Bill, see you in the blink of an eye. Love Nancy and Tony
