I also lost contact with Fred during the years. We pledged Omega Psi Phi together in 1982. I shall never forget him. May the love and peace of God continue to comfort and abide in your hearts!

I also lost contact with Fred during the years. We pledged Omega Psi Phi together, he was a leader for sure. My prayers goes out to his wife, family, and friends.

Fred was my fraternity brother. He was in the chapter when I entered Omega Psi Phi at Ft Knox Ky. I lost track of him and I am sorry we did not reconnect. My sincere sympathy to the Johnson Family. I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Frederick was a wonderful and kind person. We were classmates and graduated both high school and college: St. Paul's 1972 and S.C.State College 1976. My prayers are with you at this very difficult time, may God keep his memories close and comfort you in days to come.

Johnson the entire class of 1972 graduate of St. Paul/ Baptist Hill High School mourn in this great loss, Fredrick passing really had a geat effect on our classmates. we want you to know that our prayer and thought are with the family during this very difficult time. Family in times like these you have someone that you can lean on and that person is Jesus, he will see the family through these time.

It is so sad to hear of Fredrick passing. Fredrick and I played in BBHS Marching and Concert Band together. What a great SOUL that GOD plucks an added into the garden.

My prayers and thoughts are with your family . I use to live next door to all of you and we all became close friends . My mom mrs.webster was very close with your mom and dad johnny and ollie as I knew them. Jerome,ricky,curtis and my brother ricky and I would play ball sometimes in the afternoon after school till it got dark. We really had some fun times. All of you were very special to us and treated us so good. I don't know if you remember me but, I was (virginia) or as some called me ginny webster.your family will always be a special part of our life.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

I shall miss my old friend. Since my retirement a few years back we only talked during AMA meetings at Fort McClellan. Fred was a solid leader and my friend.

My condolences to the Johnson family. I did not know General Johnson, but I met him only once. After that one meeting, I have never forgotten him. He and my dad were in the military together. The night my dad (CSM Billy Haney) retired from the military, General Johnson sat at our table at the retirement dinner. We talked about our families, and his and my dad's career. He talked highly of my dad that night, and I knew then that they were great friends. He made such an impression on me, I have never forgotten him. Like General Johnson, my dad passed away Jan, 2009. Knowing that they were friends and military buddies, I know they are so glad to see each other in Heaven. I am so sorry for your loss. May God comfort your family during this difficult time.

Daria, you did a wonderful job euologizing your father. Nothing else that will be done later can surpass the homegoing celebration that you all gave your father in Birmingham. My regret is that so many of his friends, co-workers and frat brothers didn't get a chance to share in these final moments. God is not sleep. Everything you went through is definitely a testimony. Continue family to be strong in the Lord. I am glad that you all don't look like what you been through. To God be the Glory. Keeping you all in my prayers.

My condolences to the family of BG (RET) Fred Johnson. I will never forget the day CPT Johnson walked into the armory wanting to join the Alabama National Guard. From that day forward we developed a friendship that will last forever. To my Friend and fellow Armor Officer "I will meet you on the High Ground".

Uncle Fred we will miss you!!!! My Aunt took very good care of you. We cant believe you are gone, but you are gone to a better place, no more suffering, or worries. We love you always and Forever!!! The Williamson Family!!!!!!!!

As a 1972-1976 SCSU cadet and, on behalf of many others who entered the military through the famed "Bulldog Battalion", I extend heartfelt sympathy to Gen Johnson's family and friends at this most difficult time.
Fred and I had a short but warm conversation while waiting on General Colin Powell to arrive for a SCSU ROTC program prior to the 2011 graduation ceremony.
Even though we had not seen each other for decades, we embraced in friendship, enjoyed our conversation and wished each other well.
Those of us who had the honor of being a cadet in the same program that guided Brig. Gen. Frederick J. Johnson will forever be proud and grateful that we met such a man.

Thank you Everyone! I am Adara Johnson, Brig. Gen. Frederick J. Johnson's youngest daughter. It lightens up my heart to know that my father has made memories for so many people from all over!. On behalf of me and the family, Thank you all so much for your prayers...The nurse told me that my daddy's final words were GOD IS IN CONTROL.. and this we know.. So DO NOT WORRY DADDY HAS MADE IT HOME TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER..telling his many jokes!!! Thank you all once again!

I am at a loss for words. Please accept my condolences. I was under BG Johnson at 62nd Troop Command. He was a great man, and will be missed greatly, but he is home now! To God be the glory sir!

My condolences to the family of Frederick Johnson, a co worker on the Goodyear RDS team. Fred was a very hummble man that would do anything for anyone. He was a true friend and will be very much missed every hour of everyday. He is in Gods house now to live for eternity. I will remember Fred as the GREAT MAN he was. Rest in peace good friend.

It saddens me to hear of the loss of Fred. Fred was a good man and a great person to work with. Fred was always there to help and always smiling when he did it. Fred will be truly missed. My sympathy goes out to his family.

BG Fred Johnson was a true friend and an Enlisted Soldiers, Soldier. I as everyone who knew him will truly miss him. Fred was a great mentor to everyone who worked around him. To the family, I as you, will miss the big bear hug he always had for a friend who he had not seen in a while.

To My Pastor Reverend Rhella Murdaugh and the Johnson family, God is to wise to make a mistake and too just to do wrong; know that he relieved your father, brother and son from the suffering here on this earth and moved Brigadier General Johnson to the Royal Army of the Lord.

He received his promotion from earth to be with the Lord. He is not dead, the word tells us that those that die in the Lord sleeps.

To the Family, thank you for sharing such an eloquent man with us. I only learned of him during the tribute to Mr.Bryant. He was so excited about celebrating this man and he spoke so eloquently at his tribute and engaged the audience with memories and laughter. That was my experience with him and it will be a life long memory. I said my appreciation to him already, so... to the family, Thank you for such a great person.
