Hall and family,
Fred was my boss on the USS Dixon. I know that is many years ago, but I was very saddened to hear about his passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Charlotte and I are deeply saddened to hear of Fred's sudden passing. You and we both arrived at HQS, US European Command in Stuttgart at just about the same time in 1991, and it was an honor and privilege to work with Fred in the J4 Logistics Directorate. Captain Easton was my boss, and he was the consummate professional, always a gentleman, a thoughtful and highly respected leader and decision maker. Hall, our times in Germany were the most memorable and pleasurable of all, and you and Fred were a big part of it. Remember our TAD trip to Paris?
It was an honor to have served with your husband. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Dear Hall,
You may not remember me, I worked for Fred on the EUCOM J46 staff as Chief of the Joint Petroleum Office, 1992-95. Len and Charlotte Harper just forwarded to me the sad news about Fred's passing. All of us in his section had the greatest respect for him as a person and and as a boss. The world will be a lesser place for his absence. My deepest sympathy to you and all the family.

Hall and family, You have so much been in our thoughts in past few days. Joe and I dont agree on everything, but we certainly agree that Fred was one terrific fellow. We loved his humor, his low key personality, his interest in the world around him and his ability to make a great martini. We met in China, had the most wonderful time with you in Chicago and again when we were lucky enough to visit your homes on Edisto Island and in Charleston. This news leaves us both feeling most saddened. We have such warm memories of Fred and of our time together. Today especially you all will be in our thoughts and prayers. With much love, Sylvia and Joe

Aunt Hall and Family,
We were at once shocked and saddened by the news of Uncle Fred's sudden illness and untimely passing. We will keep the memories of him and our times together in Edisto as a momento of the loving and warm man that he was.
