I met Freddie in a math class at Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University, in 1959; we were both co-op electrical engineering students and were in Army ROTC together until we graduated in 1964. We served together in the Army at Fort Bliss, Texas, at the Air Defense Board for two years; later we worked together at Naval Electronic Command in Charleston, SC, for two years. Freddie and Lindler are our best friends, and you could not have had better. Freddie was a committed Christian who lived his faith every day. St Frances once said to preach the Gospel at all times; use words when necessary. Freddie preached the Gospel by his life and example. We love you Freddie and know the good Lord has called you to himself and said: Well done my son. May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in the mercy and peace of God.
