Fred Patrick Obituary

Fred Patrick "David" SUMMERVILLE - Fred "David" Patrick, 69, of Summerville, loving husband of Betty Myers Patrick died Wednesday morning, March 17, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11 o'clock at Knightsville United Methodist Church, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405 or Parkinson's Disease Research, 171 Ashley Avenue, Suite 300, MSC 403, Charleston, SC 29425. David was born February 23, 1941 in Knightsville, son of the late Walker Donald Patrick and Carrie Mae York Patrick. He was a graduate of Summerville High School. He enjoyed fishing and bluegrass music but mostly his life revolved around his family. He retired after 26 years as a Welder, Foreman, and General Foreman with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a member of Knightsville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Betty, of 49 years, 2 daughters: Celeste Patrick Murray (George) of Givhans, Kerry Denise Patrick of Summerville and 1 son: Sean David Patrick (Tammie) of Summerville, 2 granddaughters: Jordan Rebekah Patrick of Summerville and Maggie Patrick Murray of Givhans, 2 brothers: Donald W Patrick, Sr. (Mary Ann) of Summerville and Thomas M. Patrick (Frances) of Summerville, 2 sisters: Deloris Patrick Sweat of Summerville and Beverly Patrick Riley (Billy) of Summerville, uncle and aunt: Collins and Doris Patrick of Summerville, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and 1 brother: Kenneth E. Patrick. The family would like to thank special friends from Hospice of Charleston, Anita Christianson, Tonya Hickman, Emily Buchheit, Louise Taylor and Frank Butler for their loving care and compassion.
