It is sad to see on of our great contributors to the field of dental biomaterials pass. Frank was a great friend and a great mentor. He taught me so much in my early career about dental academics and research grant reviewing. I have so many great memories of time with him, especially when we were in Dublin and he dragged a group of us to go on a long walk to visit the Guinness brewery at St. James Gate, only to find it that it was closed on Saturday. Cheers Frank.

It is sad to see one of our great contributors to the field of dental materials pass. Frank was a great friend and mentor. I learned so much from him early in my career about dental academics and research grant reviewing. I have so many great memories of him, especially the long trip my wife, John Keller, Paul Schnitmann and I made with him to St. James Gate in Dublin to visit the Guinness factory, only to get there and find out it was closed on Saturday. Cheers Frank!

Frank hired me to my first faculty position when I joined the faculty at MUSC. He was a jovial, honest and caring mentor and later, a friend I could on for sound and honest advice. I try to remember his words of wisdom when I interact with my own students. I will miss him and his friendly spirit.
