Franklin Johnson Obituary

I just heard about the passing of Rev. Johnson. It sadden me to hear the news. With him being in the ministry with my dad, and also even pastoring at the same church, I've know him most of my life. Rev. Johnson would also keep me in line after my dad died, as I was only a teenager at the time (he knew all about raising girls), and we were neighbors. I didn't appreciate it until I got older. He would go down the street and check on my mom when she was sick. After I moved to Atlanta, my mom and sister would tell me about his visits, and the fresh vegetables he would bring. He always kept me laughing. Your family is in my prayers.

To the Family of the late Rev. Dr. Franklin Johnson, c/o Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson and daughters, I extend my deepest sympathy upon hearing of his passing. He is resting in the arms of our heavenly Father for "When prayers/praises go up, blessing come down."
He will be sorely missed.

Rev. Johnson, It is with heartfelt sadness that I write this. For the past 32 years you have been like a father, friend, and mentor to me. Consequently, it was a great honor to have you and Mrs. Johnson as God-parents for our son, Marvin, who is now 19 years old. Throughout the years, we have fellowshipped with you and your family. These are memories that I will cherish every day. I will miss you as you have always been a cornerstone for me to lean on. Also, since 2005 when my father passed, you were more like a father to me. Even though you are gone, I believe that one day we will meet again in this journey. Loving you, always, Sam Lowery and family. Missing you....

There will be an empty chair at the holiday table this year, but it will be filled with loving memories.

Rest in peace to my dear frat brother. It was an honor to sit and talk with you as well as take care of you this past weekend. Until we meet again. Soror Johnson, know that I love you and will definitely keep you and my soror sisters in prayer

Brother Johnson was initiated into the Pi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Kingstree, SC in the 1970s. Upon moving to the Charleston area in 1991 Brother Johnson became a member of our chapter Beta Mu Sigma serving in number of post. During his 25 years as a member of Beta Mu Sigma Reverend Johnson's service to our fraternity, our region, our state, our chapter, and our community, has been unparalleled. When he spoke Sigma listened! He will be missed by all in our Wondrous Band! WE LOVE YOU BLUE!!

Praying that the love and joy he brought to us all provides comfort throughout this time. So sorry we are not able to be there with you but know that we are with you in spirit. God bless and keep you as your journey continues without our patriarch.
