Frank Russo Obituary

Frank J. Russo, affectionately known as Jack, Mr. Russo, or Judge, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Summerville, SC, at the age of 89. Born in Hudson, NY, on December 15, 1935, to Frank and Mary Russo, Frank led a life of deep dedication to family, community, and service. He spent over 30 years with the Hudson City School District, serving as both teacher and administrator, positively impacting generations of students. He also served proudly as a Justice of the Peace for the Town of Greenport for many years. Frank was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. During his years in Hudson, he and his beloved wife, Nancy, opened their home on West Marie Street to countless families and friends. Weekends were filled with bocce ball, card games, swimming, and cheering on the New York Giants. That same spirit of joy and community followed them into retirement at The Villages in Florida, where fun and laughter continued to be at the heart of their lives. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Nancy Russo (Repp); his loving children, Karla Faught, Dina Havens, Sandra Martin, and Anthony Russo; and cherished grandchildren, Nick Faught, Jack Faught, Patrick Faught, John Paul Bednar, Bridget Grossman, Jimmy Bednar, Amber Havens, Theresa Linker, Rowan Russo, Morgan Russo, and Benton Russo. He also leaves behind his adored great-grandchildren: Isabella Havens-Salas, Jacob Grossman, Elijah Grossman, Margot Badolato, and Vivien Faught. He will be fondly remembered by his sons-in-law, William Faught, Joseph W. Martin, and Michael Havens. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Russo; sisters, Margaret and Mary Anne; and his beloved son, James Anthony Russo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospic e in Frank's honor. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to CCC. At Frank's request, burial will be private. Karla & The Russo Family
My sincerest condolences to you all. Lots of great memories of Mr. Russo at Greenport School and at home on West Marie Street. He left a wonderful, lasting impression of what a school administrator should look like, stearn when needed, sincere and usually with a smile on his face.
Sincerely,
Jane (Onufrychuk) Mack

Met Frank when I was a Probation Officer when he was a Principal and also as a Justice. Frank was a great guy to know, and by the way, he was also a good ping pong player. A group of us would get together once per week to have lunch and play a little ping pong at the McDonald household. I´m not gonna lie, Frank liked to put a wager on ANY sport, even ping pong. Lol Rest in Peace sir, it was a pleasure to have known you.
