Frank Huff Obituary

Frank Huff, Jr. Summerville - Frank Huff Jr., 88, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born on July 1, 1928 to the late Frank and Rhoda Huff, Sr. He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, stationed in the Aleutian Islands. For 37 years he served as a welder and Nuclear Welding Instructor in Shop 26 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and later W.W. Williams, both from which he retired. Frank was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and collector. He always made time to fellowship, no matter how busy. He was a man of God, an active church deacon, choir director, and Sunday School Teacher at Lydia Baptist Church in Summerville SC. He led by example and touched those he knew with his generosity, patience, self-discipline, kindness and faith. His love of God and family were beyond measure, and he was the catalyst by which many came to know God. Frank is survived by his wife Ida L. Huff of Summerville SC; his children Marsha A. Myers and Frank Huff III of Summerville SC; his grandchildren Stephanie R. Horton (Steve) of Summerville SC, and Dakota D. Huff of Cross SC; and his great-grandsons Jacob, Jobie and James Cooper Horton of Summerville SC. He is also survived by his sister, Lela Allison (Bill), and brother in-law William (Bill) Driggers both of Summerville SC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Leon, Clarence and Walter Huff. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and medical assistants, as well as Homestead Hospice for the love and care they provided to Frank. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 6-8pm Friday July 8, 2016 at Parks Funeral Home in Summerville SC. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10 am at Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Paul Zerbst will officiate. The family gratefully accepts flowers, prayers, condolences and memories, or memorials may be made to the Tri-County Veterans Network, PO Box 1884, Charleston, SC 29402. Stephanie and Family. We send our prayers, sympathy and affection to those who grieve the loss of your grandfather Frank.( He was our First Cousin-once Removed...his father and our grandfather William Henry Huff were brothers).
The reputation of the faith and character of cousin Frank was well known and respected. It is with regret that we did not ourselves share a face to face meeting with him. We feel enriched by knowing of him and his family.
From the Huff families in Elmira, New York, let our hearts be joined with your hearts in prayer and faith. The Rev. Donald Hoff, Sheldon Huff and Barry Huff.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Huffs passing. He was a very kind and gentle man. He came into our shop (Driggers Small Engine) for many years with a smile on his face. He would pray for those in need. No matter how busy we were, we would always stop to go give Mr. Huff a hug. I will miss that sweet smile and those hugs. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Aunt Ida,Marsha,Frankie and family,
There will never be another Uncle Frank in this world. He taught me what death was when I lost my grandmother when I was 13 years old. When I feel bad and things are not going well I think of his soft sweet voice and he would say look to the lord and everything will be alright. He will be greatly missed by all. The Cook and Tyler family sends their thoughts and prayers to you all. If we are needed we are a phone call away. Love you all very much

To Ida, Lela, Marsha, Frankie, Steven, Stephanie and the guys, I am so thankful that I was part of his chosen family. My heart hurts for those left behind but I know that he watches over us and he is singing and praising God, rejoicing in Heaven. In that sweet sweet voice I can hear everything's going to be alright. Love and compassion to all left behind. I love you all dearly.
