"Cappy" was Director of our Charleston Research Center during my early years at Westvaco. He was well liked, extremely intelligent and a joy to work with. He will be missed by friends and family.

I send my sincerest sympathy to the family.

I worked for Frank from 1966 until he retired. He was a great research director who was always full of ideas and knew how to encourage his scientists to think outside the box. His leadership at Charleston Research was the main reason for much of the success in Westvaco. He was also a humorous man who was able to lift your spirit. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family for their loss.

Our sympathies to the Ball family. My dad, Melvin (now deceased), and myself knew Dr. Ball at Westvaco for quite a few years. I know I can speak also for my dad as he often told me stories of Frank's scientific endeavors. Dr. Ball was a fine, interesting, unpretentious man as well as being a talented innovative chemist. We were enriched to have known him. I ran into Frank several times after he retired and I hope, at my time, I can maintain the drive and love of life that he did.

Cappy was a great friend and fellow participant in the Spiritual Society. He was a passionate singer and it was wonderful to watch him stomp his feet and clap to the rhythm. My father was in WWI with Frank Jervey and lifelong friend---we called him Uncle Frank and was my brothers Godfather. He helped me so much at Clemson and I keep up with daughter Mary Kilby----Yor father lived up to the name. He did so much forthe community and his profeesion--he is missed. Sorry that I could not attend the visitation or the funeral---I send my smypathy and best wishes to his family. Tommy Thornhill
