Francois Mouton Obituary

Francois Mouton, Jr. ALTOONA, FL - It is with great sorrow that the family and friends of Franois ("Frank") douard Mouton, Jr. announce his passing on March 18 of this year. His death at Lakeview Terrace (Altoona, FL) followed an extended hospitalization for a severe kidney infection. Frank was born into a devout Catholic family in Lafayette LA on December 19, 1934. He grew up speaking English and the Acadiana (Cajun) dialect of his ancestors, family, and friends. As a youth he enjoyed fishing and explored the bayous, bays, and lakes of southern Louisiana, played catcher on his baseball teams, and learned the traditions of "laissez le bon temps rouler" (let the good times roll). He attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans then earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University. In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Lynne Marie Moore, settled in New Orleans, started a family, and began a rapid climb into the world of sales and marketing. After a long career in corporate sales, including manager of a local Blockbuster, Frank's people-skills propelled him into the hospitality business at Charleston Place. Dean Andrews, the General Manager, hired Frank after Dean's 9-year-old daughter fell in love with Frank at Blockbuster. At Charleston Place he was a favorite of co-workers, managers, and repeat hotel visitors, well-known movie stars, celebrities, authors, and politicians. "The world was simply a better place with Frank in it, said Ms. Danielle Girard, a dear friend and long-time colleague at Charleston Place. "I don't think I'll ever get over losing him." As everyone who knew him would attest, Frank's happiest and most proud accomplished were those of his children. He is survived by his first wife, Lynne Marie Moore (Altoona, FL) and five of their six children: Francis Edward ("Eddie") Mouton III and wife JoJo (Shreveport, LA); Peter Randolph ("Randy") Mouton and wife Sammie Lee (St. Petersburg, FL); Jane Gabrielle Clites and husband Randy (Blue Earth, MN); Leslie Anne Mouton (Salt Lake City, UT); and Suzanne Lindley and husband Keith (Daphne, AL). He is also survived by his second wife, Cindy Rae (Salt Lake City, UT) and their three children: Andrew Clay Mouton (Shreveport, LA), Joshua Paul Mouton (Columbia, MD), Elizabeth Louise Mouton (Danville, CA), and two from her first marriage he adopted, Michael Dana Mouton (Kalamazoo, MI) and Shannon Lee Mouton (Greenville, SC); and dozens of loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Frank is survived by his third wife, Barbara Mouton (Atlanta GA) and a daughter, Leila, from her first marriage who he adopted. At the time of his death, Frank was widowed after 31 years with his fourth wife, Kathleen (Kate) Joan Mouton, and is survived by her daughters, Kimberly J. Pearson and Amanda L. Iqbal (both of Arlington Heights, IL), and Heather A. Pearson (Rutledge, TN). He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Edward Mouton, Sr., a United States Postal Inspector and Catherine Marie (Hebert) Mouton, a homemaker; his older brother, Rodney A. Mouton; and one daughter, Mignon Pauline Mouton with his first wife. Frank requested a simple cremation and lagniappe (something extra) -- that he return to the Acadian homeland of his ancestors. In the summer of 2022, a group of his family and friends will gather there to honor this wish. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston
