To the family of Frank Marzolf...
I was saddened to learn of Frank's passing. Frank was a dear friend and valued mentor during my early years in the United Way movement. At times when I faced criticism and pressure from UWA staff related to a very strongly held personal view that UW existed to serve the community and the agencies we supported financially, Frank was always a serious listener, adviser and supporter. His friendship and support at times kept me going. In short, Frank was truly a hero in my life and I shall never forget him.

To Frank's loved ones, Mary and I offer our condolences to you on the passing of a great man. I had the privilege of working with and for Frank at United Way of America in the mid-1980's when he was Senior Vice President of the Personnel Development Division. Frank was very special. He was a person you instantly liked and his professionalism earned him utmost respect.
I did not know he was the great athlete (except for his golf game) but what was not mentioned in the wonderful obituary was his proficiency at poker. I learned the hard way!
Frank's contributions to the United Way movement both at local and national levels were significant and many. He's one who made a difference. We will miss him and his ever present smile and friendly demeanor.
