Frances Sweat Obituary

Frances Smith Sweat SUMMERVILLE - Frances (Fran) Smith Sweat passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Frances was born November 26, 1952 in Moncks Corner, SC, the daughter of the late Lena Harvey Smith and Casper Smith. She retired from the Coastal Center in Ladson after thirty-one years of dedicated service to many clients and their families. Fran leaves behind her son, Joel David Sweat, Jr., of Summerville; a sister, Carolyn (Carol) Smith Knight of Summerville; a nephew, Lee Clontz (Melissa) of Decatur, GA; and a niece, Ashley Knight Biering (Griffin) of Huntersville, NC. She was predeceased by her mother and father and a brother, Robert (Bob) C. Smith. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of her love of animals, donations may be made to Dorchester Paws, 136 4 Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483.
