Frances Robertson Obituary

Frances Robertson JACKSONVILLE, FL - Frances Robertson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many; died peacefully in her sleep August 4, 2011, leaving us to be with her husband of over 60 years, Tom Robertson. She is survived by her daughter Eugenia Geiger (Paul), granddaughter Amy, grandson George III (Sarah), and great-grandson Brandon. Frances, born November 21, 1921, was originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina School of Nursing in Charleston, SC in 1945, and moved to Jacksonville in 1952. She was one of the first nurses hired by Baptist Memorial Hospital when they opened. A humanitarian path continued throughout her life, offering comfort to many through her nursing skills, enjoying a good Christian fellowship, and showing an unwavering devotion to her family and their endeavors. Tom and Frances traveled extensively after retirement, often taking friends and family with them. We will miss her smile, quick wit, and her discipline for always looking proper and beautiful. We wish to extend our gratitude to her loving caregiver, Cynthia Bacon. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10AM in Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Eric Williams of Lakewood United Methodist Church officiating. A celebration of life will follow at her home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Meals on Wheels or Lakewood United Methodist Church. Mrs. Robertson will always be remembered through her good works and generous heart. We were honored to have her as part of our Meals on Wheels team. She was- and always will be- the kind of woman we want our daughters to be. We have the family- immediate and extended - in our prayers.
