Frances Pruitt SPARTANBURG, SC - Frances Elizabeth Pruitt, 83, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born in North Charleston, Frances was the daughter of Robert Thompson Spencer, Sr. and Kathleen Burch. She graduated from Chicora High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Limestone University. Frances began her career as a schoolteacher, later discovering her true joy in nurturing young children as a devoted Child Care Teacher. Frances knew what she liked. She loved the rhythm of tennis matches, the beauty of fresh-cut flowers, and songs by women's voices. She devoured romantic novels, enjoyed the twists of crime dramas, and never missed the chance for a soap opera. Her grandchildren brought her pure delight, and later in life, she found a spark of happiness dyeing her hair green. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 55 years, Ronald Vann Pruitt, Sr.; her sons, Brent Lee Pruitt, Marc Douglas Pruitt, Ronald Vann Pruitt, Jr., and Michael Patrick Pruitt; and her cherished grandchildren, Haviland Elizabeth Pruitt and Grayson North Pruitt. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg. A service honoring Frances's life will follow at 1:00 PM, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Frances's spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Arrangements are entrusted to Floyd Greenlawn Chapel.
