Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Gibson Summerville - Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Gibson, 81, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Trident Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Charles and Frances Collette. Betty attended Catholic High School. She married her sweetheart, Jerry L. Gibson, and served as a military wife with the United States Air Force for 20 years. Betty and Jerry were members of St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother named Chuck Collette. Surviving siblings are Charlene Collette, Gracie Cresswell, Kathleen O'Donnell, and Ricky Collette. All siblings reside in Charleston, SC. Betty is predeceased by her husband Jerry, her two sons Glenn Gibson, Jerry Lee Gibson, Jr., and her granddaughter Tiffany Gibson. Surviving are her daughters, Donna Gibson, Paula Mahoney and her husband, Chris, and Beth Allan and her husband, Chad. Surviving are her grandchildren, William Gibson, Christopher Mahoney, Amber Barron, Millie Allan, Hunter Allan, Trevor Allan, and Tanner Allan. Surviving are her great-grandchildren, Preston Gibson of the United States Army, Brennen Barron, Maddox Mahoney, Cohen Mahoney, and Greyson Mahoney. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A service will be held on Sunday, October 17, at 3:00 PM, at James A. Dyal Funeral Home in Summerville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
