Florence Futrell Obituary

Florence Elizabeth Futrell HANAHAN - Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Futrell of Hanahan, SC, beloved wife of Jimmy R Futrell, entered eternal rest on Monday April 2, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Florence was born November 3, 1941, to the late Edwin and Bessie Snyder in Saugeen Township, Ontario, Canada. She leaves behind four siblings - Ellen (Elmo) Gibson, Jerry (Cathy) Snyder, Ron (Marj) Snyder and Barbara (Denis) Banville. Florence is survived by her husband of 61 years; sons, Jamie (Michelle) Futrell and Kevin (Nora) Futrell; and daughters, Wendy (Matthew) Bradberry and Christy (John) Moon. In addition, she is survived by 9 grandchildren; Stephanie (Sambath) Vong, Priscilla (William) Brinson, Parker Futrell, Victoria Bradberry, Tyler Futrell, Easton Bradberry, Kylie Grace Futrell, Emily Moon and Jordan Moon. Florence was also blessed with two greatgrandchildren, Weston Brinson and Bryce Brinson. Mrs. Futrell was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She spent her life helping others- first as a nurse then as a childcare provider. But, perhaps her greatest legacy is of a loving, Christ-centered family who will miss her greatly but rejoice with the angels knowing we will see her again in our Heavenly Home. The Family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and her regular care team- Jim, Mia, Heidi, Kaye, Patrick and Ms Mary for their compassion and dedication. In addition, we would like to thank Frank Albach with Holy City Missions, Joann Roberts, Betty Weikert and Barbara Rabon for their friendship and visits. Family and friends are invited to honor Florence's life at a visitation to be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00pm to 12:00pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. A chapel service will follow promptly at 12:00pm. Florence will be laid to rest following the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
