Felicisima Amoroso Naval SUMMERVILLE - Felicisima Amoroso Naval, 72, of Summerville, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her residence. Friends and family are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock PM. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9 o'clock AM at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Street, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Felicisima "Fely" was born on August 6, 1944 in Vigan Ilocos Sur, daughter of the late Melchora Racadio Alzate and Andres Alagar Amoroso. She attended Burgos Elementary School, IIocos Sur High and Mariano University. She came to Charleston, SC in 1966 and began teaching in 1967 at Menriv Elementary. Fely became an assistant principal at Lamb Elementary and was appointed principal at Mt. Zion Elementary in the early 1990's. She retired at the age of 55 in 1999 to babysit her grandchildren and to sell real estate. Fely was the President of Phi Delta Kappa, served 4 years as President of Filipino American Association, Vice President and Board Member of FCC. Fely gave to many non-profit organizations. She enjoyed playing mahjong, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sports and activities. She was a parishioner of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Surviving are: two children: Cheryl Naval Jansen (Mark) of Charleston and Remedios A. Naval (Melissa) of Summerville; five grandchildren: Marissa, Lizzie, Ellie, Nina and Edward; two sisters: Corazon Aspiras and Lettrice Aquino; longtime kasama, Remedios C. Naval and her beloved pets, Maggie and Jackson; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Francis Willis SPCA, 136 4 Paws Ln, Summerville, SC 29483.
