Faye Bray Obituary

Faye L. Bray MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Faye L. Bray passed away at the Hospice Center of Charleston, Mount Pleasant, SC, on August 16, 2016, at the age of 91. Faye is predeceased by her husband, Ernest Bray, Jr., in 1982 and son, Ernest John Bray, III, in 2006. Faye is survived by her loving sister, Joann Kemper and husband Gene of Waldorf, MD, and children, Robert L. Bray, Sr. of Porter, Texas, Kenneth A. Bray and Gary D. Bray of Ladson, SC, and Sondra A. Bray of North Charleston, SC. Faye is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Bob Bray, Jr. and Kevin Bray and their children, Chad Bray, Ashley Bray and great-great-grandchild, Zayden, all of Port Orchard WA; grandchildren Kenneth D. Bray, Jr., Cheree D. Bray, both of Summerville, SC; also, grandson, Wilson M. Jones of Goose Creek, SC, and great-great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Jones, Ashlyn Jones, Lilly Jones, Gena Jones, and Luke Jones, of Bonneau, SC; and also, granddaughter, Christina Bray Shankey of Summerville, SC, and great-grandson, Dominik Shankey Elliott of Summerville, SC. Faye was born in Coeburn, VA on September 27, 1924. She graduated from Appalachia High School, Class of 1943/1944. She worked in the home and for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1979. Faye enjoyed working with thousand-piece puzzles, gardening with her plumeria plants, and playing with the grandkids. The service of remembrance will be held in the chapel at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 22, 2016, with Pastor B.H. from Cathedral of Praise Church officiating. Burial to immediately follow service at the Park. A reception will take place at the chapel following burial.
