Evelyn was raised in Mine Hill, NJ, where she lived until she joined the Navy as a Wave in 1943 and then moved to New York City. After serving her country during World War II, she moved to Morristown, NJ and returned to school and worked for AirCo in Summit, NJ as divisional head of the companies' secretaries. After retiring as a docent, Evelyn continued to conduct research for the artist exhibits, Symbolism and the pre-Raphaelites for museum docents. She was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, where she edited and wrote for "The Trumpet", the parish newsletter.

We are saddened by the news of the passing of your wonderful Mom. I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with her just once at the Bellevue Cafe. Even though she wasn't feeling too perky that night, I could see the sparkle, the life force strong within her.
