Evelyn Irene Spahn BALTIMORE, MD - On June 9, 2015, Evelyn Irene (nee Butts) Spahn, beloved wife of the late Albert Louis Spahn, loving mother of Lois Spahn Hunt and her husband Bob and Albert W. Spahn and his wife Kay, cherished grandmother of Mary P. Hunt, Suzanne Hunt Weber and her husband Joel, R. Blake Hunt and his wife Lynn, L. Gordon Hunt, Theresa Spahn Belote and Laura Spahn, devoted great-grandmother of Maria C. Weber and Laura M. Weber. After 100 years and 364 days, she said she didn't want to get old and I guess 101 would have been too much for her sensibilities. My grandmother, Evelyn Spahn passed away in her sleep at 1 AM on June 9, 2015. She and my grandfather owned and ran a neighborhood grocery for their adult lives. My grandfather built, with his hands, block by block and trowel by trowel the house she lived in for more then 60 years and passed away within sight of the neighborhood where she spent most of her life and lived in that same house in her beloved Baltimore. Rest in peace Mom Mom, tell Pop Pop I said hey and when I see you both I'll stay out of your kitchen and wait for pop's knuckle sandwich. Save me a crab cake and I look forward to your sauerbraten and tricking you with Rumplemintz. Mrs. Spahn rests at the family operated HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21229. The family will receive guests on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 7-8 PM and on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10-11 AM. Funeral Services will follow. Interment to follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.
