Evelyn Link Obituary

Evelyn Claire Yonkus Link Mt. Pleasant - Evelyn Claire Yonkus Link, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Richard Robert Link, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 5, 2021. Her memorial service will be privately held. Evelyn was born April 8, 1933 in Queens, New York, daughter of the late Andrew Yonkus and Mary Biganski Yonkus. Evelyn graduated from Queens College with a degree in Biology in 1956. Starting her career with Pfizer, as a Laboratory Technician, she worked until her children were born. At that point, she became a stay at home mom. While raising her children and running the household, she completed her Master's Degree in Education. Evelyn taught Chemistry in the private and public school system until she retired to South Carolina with her husband of 65 years in 1989. She enjoyed the great outdoors, entertaining her grandchildren, playing sports and always the avid gardener with a green thumb. Always known for her wit and fun loving pranks, she was loved and respected as the matriarch of the family. She is survived by her two sons, Richard Link (Katie) of Johns Island, SC and Donald Link (Kim) of Denver, CO; daughter, Kathryn Mauceri of East Northport, NY; and grandchildren; Sean Link, Melissa Link, Tim Link, Sydney Link, and Christopher Mauceri.
