Evelyn Connaway Obituary

Evelyn Ruth Connaway Sept. 17, 1923 - Jan. 16, 2010 Resident of Oakland, CA Beloved mother of Carol Connaway Blackledge, devoted grandmother of Michael Blackledge, beloved wife of the late James A.L. Connaway, and caring sister of the late Naomi McDannold, Raymond Skovmand, and David Skovmand. Evelyn was the treasured aunt of Bruce McDannold and Lori McDannold, treasured great-aunt of Mark McDannold, and is survived by many loving cousins. Evelyn attended St. Elizabeth's High School in Oakland, later becoming a medical secretary. She touched many lives with her warmth and bright smile working for Dr. Leo Pedemont in Oakland for over 30 years, Children's Hospital, and Dr. Gee's office in San Leandro. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, on Friday, January 22, 2010 between 1-4 pm and to a funeral mass at St. Leo's the Great Catholic Church, 176 Ridgeway Ave (off of Piedmont Ave.), Oakland, on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the ASPCA.
