Eva Proudfoot Obituary

Eva D'Alonzo Proudfoot CHARLESTON - Eva D'Alonzo Proudfoot, 81, of Charleston, SC, widow of Perry A. Proudfoot, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, in a West Ashley care facility. Born in Newark, New Jersey, May 25, 1928, she was one of six children of Pasquale D'Alonzo and Maria Cilli D'Alonzo. Mrs. Proudfoot lived with her husband in Michigan for thirty years until they moved to the Charleston area to be close to their children. Eva's passion was her gardening, volunteering hours of her time to Cranbrook Gardens and the municipal area of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Eva was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in West Bloomfield until she moved her membership to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek. She was formerly employed in the New Departure Hyatt division of General Motors Corporation. Mrs. Proudfoot is survived by her brother, Louis D'Alonzo of Nutley, NJ; sister, Helen D'Alonzo Malec of St. Paul, MN; son, William Proudfoot of Goose Creek, SC; daughters: Kathryn Littleton, Marie Proudfoot and Carol Proudfoot all of Goose Creek, SC; and grandchildren, Nicole Littleton and Jarritt Proudfoot. She was predeceased by her husband, brothers, Alvin D'Alonzo and George D'Alonzo, and a sister, Laura D'Alonzo Stevenson. The memorial Mass will be held Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 501 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
