Eva Lynn Obituary

LYNN, Eva CHESTER - Mrs. Eva R. Lynn, 86 , formerly of Chester died Wednesday, July 16 after a brief illness. Born on November 17, 1921 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Clelia Prince Revels and grew up and lived her life in Chester, SC. Mrs. Lynn was the second of seven children. In April, 1941, she married W. Grier Lynn, owner of Lynn's Drug Store, who preceded her in death in 1975. They had one daughter, Lynda Carole Flynn. Mrs. Lynn was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Chester until her death. She served on the Altar Guild at the church for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Chester Springmaid Golf Course where she won numerous Ladies Club Championships. She was also active in the Dogwood Garden Club. She had a gift for arranging flowers and provided floral decorations for weddings and the Chester Cotillion Club, where she was a member for many years. She was also a member of several bridge clubs. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress as well. She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Carole Flynn of Charlotte, NC, two granddaughters, Robyn F. Nestvogel and her husband John of Rock Hill, SC and Carole F. Roof and her husband Phil Roof, Jr of Daniel Island, SC, three great-grandchildren, Grier Lynn Gough of Chester, SC, James Britton Gough, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC and Flynn Alexis Roof of Daniel Island, SC. She is also survived by one sister, Jewel Revels Collins of Chester, SC and two brothers. George W. Revels, Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Douglas B. Revels of New Orleans, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the home of Robyn and John Nestvogel, 406 Starboard Ridge, Rock Hill, SC from 2:00 until 8:00 on Friday, July 18. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at Chester Memorial Gardens in Chester, SC with Rev. Harry Gindhart and Chaplain Mariam Mick officiating.
