Eunice Houge Obituary

Eunice Houge N. Charleston - Eunice A. Houge, 85, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Eunice was born April 8, 1937 in Coward, SC to Charlie Anderson and Lonnie Evans Anderson. Eunice is survived by her husband, James M. Deaton; her children, Charles Timothy Houge (Sherrie Houge), Eunice Melinda Patenaude (Colonel Vince Patenaude), and step-daughters, Sherard D. Thomas and Laura A. Deaton; her grandchildren, Thomas Houge, Courtney Kinsey, and Mary Katherine Moore; and her great-grandchildren, Madelyn Katherine Kinsey and Payton Rhae Houge. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Lewis Houge, Jr. and her four siblings, T.C., Ula Mae, Ralph, and Elizabeth. Eunice was a hardworking, dedicated employee, and after 55+ years at Edwards Department Store and Design Build Construction, she retired as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and decorating for holidays. She enjoyed fellowship and trips with her Sunday school class where she attended Old Fort Baptist Church for 20 years with dear friends. She will be forever loved and missed by those who knew her. All services held for Eunice will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to consider a donation to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or another charity of their choice.
